Tri County Legislative Disability Forum

Over 200 Tri County advocates from the greater Peoria area showed up in force Saturday morning, June 26th, to ask their legislators and candidates hard questions regarding their support of people with disabilities. Above Sheila Dickson (seated), Charlotte Cronin, Director of the Family Support Network, and Representatives David Leitch and Mike Smith look on as Jared Janovetz shares his struggles to have a productive life in the community without needed services. Out of view in this picture are Senator Dale Risinger, Representative Jehan Gordon, and Candidates Jim Montelongo and Mike Unes.

Hats off to the great work of Tri County Disability Advocates. Plans are in the works for similar forums in Rockford, the Quad Cities, Champaign, Springfield, and Metro East St. Louis.

Welcome to the Family Support Network
The mission of the Family Support Network is to unify individuals with disabilities and their families to advocate for funding, services, and community resources that strengthen and support the individual and the family directly by responding to their individual needs and empowering them to live in their own homes.  The Family Support Network further seeks to ensure the continuation of all individual supports throughout the life span of the individual.
